Instructions for End-User Experiments and Survey

Thanks! for participing in the "Information Retrieval for the Web of Things" End-User Experiments and Survey.

First at all, the purpose of the following consent form is to provide the participants in this research with a clear explanation of its nature, as well as their role in it as participants. This scientific research is conducted by Cristyan Manta-Caro, from the University of Granada, Spain. The goal of the study is to evaluate a Information Retrieval system for the Web of Things called, (IR.WoT) from the perspective of the end-user. This system in the form of a search engine published is as a Web service at https://ir-wot-ugr.ue.r.appspot.com/

If you agree to participate in this research study, you will be asked in a first session to follow a series of search tasks using the IR.WoT system and to complete an online survey. Subsequently, in a second session, you will be asked to answer questions in an interview about your experience using the system. These sessions will take approximately 90 minutes of your time in total. Responses to the second session will be recorded on an online form. Participation in this study is strictly voluntary. The information collected will remain confidential and will not be used for any other purpose outside of this research. Your responses to the questionnaire and interview will be coded using a participant number and will therefore remain anonymous. Thank you in advance for your participation.

End-User Location

The IR.WoT system will require you to share your current location, so the search results are shown centered in your location. Otherwise, the search results will be centered assuming Granada, Spain as your geo-location.
